Pradeep injury caps difficult day for Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka quick bowler Nuwan Pradeep limped out of the tourists' warm-up match as the South Africa Invitation XI piled up the runs on day two in Benoni.
No play was possible on the first day, owing to rain, meaning time was running out for Sri Lanka to get in some meaningful practice ahead of the first Test, starting on Thursday.
Sri Lanka endured a miserable morning as Reeza Hendricks (66) and Dean Elgar (78) put on 148 for the first wicket.
To make matters worse, right-arm opening bowler Pradeep went off with a hamstring injury midway through his second over.
The touring side will be hoping the 25-year-old's problem is not too serious as they already had to travel to South Africa without the services of injured pace bowling quartet Suranga Lakmal, Shaminda Eranga, Nuwan Kulasekara and Dhammika Prasad.
Third-wicket pair Stiaan van Zyl (53) and Rilee Rossouw (52) continued to pile on the runs for the SA Invitation during the second session in a stand of 95.
Bad light ended play early in the final session with the batting side on 323-6 with Farhaan Behardien on 43 not out and closing in on completing the rare feat of all top five batsmen making a half-century.
